Launching The Gardening Club at Daylesford

As someone who believes in the healing powers of nature, time spent in my garden has long been a great source of joy to me. I am therefore very excited to have launched The Gardening Club at Daylesford this week – which I hope will encourage many others to get their hands into the soil and forge a connection with nature.

Starting in June 2025, each month will see us host an immersive full day course at our farm in the Cotswolds. Sharing skills and knowledge has always been at the heart of Daylesford’s philosophy, so our brilliant in-house experts including Jez Taylor from the market garden and Maxine Bocher from the garden space will teach visitors how to nurture, sow, harvest and grow. We will also welcome leading industry guests to join us for specialist Q&A sessions, including representatives from David Austin Roses, florist Arthur Parkinson and the brilliant landscape gardener, Jo Thompson.

As well as exploring the farm’s 28-acre market garden, every course will have the chance to step into my world with an exclusive tour of my walled garden at Daylesford House. I have a wonderful team who have been helping me tend to the garden and greenhouses for decades, so they will also be on hand to share that all they have learned.

We live and work in harmony with the seasons at Daylesford, so it made sense that each course would be framed around a particular flower or fruit synonymous with that month – from roses in June and sweet peas in July to apples in October and mistletoe in November. Similarly, guests will enjoy a delicious private lunch as part of the day – made using seasonal and organic produce harvested from the estate.

By beginning The Gardening Club, I hope to share my own love of my garden. I love the creativity of a garden – planning ahead for the different seasons, mixing colours and shapes and trying new things to see what will grow well and what might not be right. But the courses are also suitable for gardeners who have very little experience and are simply hoping to spend more time in nature.

If you would like more details or are interesting in booking a course, please click here – or see a glimpse of what the day will entail on my Instagram. It is something I feel very passionate about and goes to the heart of Daylesford’s over-arching principle: to nurture nature.
