With August come golden afternoons, turning leaves and the arrival of lots of apples, greengages and damsons in my orchard – reminders from nature that the change of season is just around the corner. Although I relish the warmer summer months, it’s always exciting to contemplate the beauty of autumn and transition into harvest season, so I’m thrilled to be sharing Bamford’s new AW24 womenswear collection this week.

To me, this collection feels like a return to Bamford’s roots; a celebration of nature’s most beautiful materials through clean, utilitarian pieces, earthy tones and timeless silhouettes. Every single garment has been sustainably crafted from just four natural fibres – cotton, cashmere, silk and/or wool. I love how effortlessly these hang and drape and the feeling of such gentle materials against my skin.

The most-loved pieces in my wardrobe are often vintage and always those I have worn time and again, so every Bamford piece is carefully designed with longevity in mind; something to last and be loved for many years to come.

I am proud that 61% of the wool we used to craft the collection is Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified. This ensures adherence to strict animal welfare and land management standards, making it a more eco-friendly and ethical choice. 40% of the collection is organic and 97% has been produced in the UK or Europe – an initiative that reduces our carbon footprint and supporting talented homegrown textile artisans at the same time.

I thought I would share a few shots from our lookbook – which was photographed on a blustery day home on our farm in the Cotswolds earlier this year. You can find a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the shoot on my Instagram and if you would like to see the collection in full, please do visit one of our Bamford stores or shop online at bamford.com.
